Before & After (Sedia 1)

01BeforeandAfter 02BeforeandAfter

The work is a response to Enzo Mari’s Sedia 1 from the 1974 do-it-yourself design manual, Autoprogettazione. By covering it with a handmade and embroidered quilt depicting the components and tools that made the chair in the state before assembly (or after disassembly), the emphasis is shifted from the iconic object itself to the thinking behind it.
